Why is outdoor area automation important?

A villa in Antalya is not only about indoor spaces. The pool, garden, terrace, and exterior lighting are a major part of daily use. KNX brings all these areas together in one system. Pool pump operating hours, garden irrigation timing, exterior lighting scenes, and automatic adjustments based on weather conditions can all be programmed.

Pool automation

A KNX weather station sensor reads rain and wind data. When rain starts, the pool cover system automatically activates. When wind speed exceeds a certain level, exterior blinds retract or umbrellas close. The pool pump can be programmed to run during the hours when solar panel production is highest.

The brightness and wind Sensor KNX LW measures the intensity of illumination and wind speed and transfers the values to the KNX system.

Garden lighting and irrigation

With KNX, garden lighting turns on automatically based on sunset time. A twilight sensor gradually activates the lighting according to ambient darkness. The irrigation system is scheduled through the KNX timer to run in the early morning. The rain sensor cancels irrigation to save water. The KNX Water Flood Detector also detects leaks from outdoor taps or irrigation hoses.

ITR401-0001 - KNX Waterflood Detector is used to detect the presence of basements, water tanks, any concealed area, or any site where water-based liquids may be leaked by infiltrating.

Exterior lighting scenes

A "dinner" scene: terrace lights turn on, the garden walkway is lit softly, and the pool underwater lights change color. A "security" scene: if a motion sensor detects something in the garden, all exterior lighting switches to full brightness.
